SWAYAM
Drishtikona - Changing Perspectives presents 'SWAYAM' Workshop Series
Research indicates that during tween and teen years majority of girls go through a significant dip in their self-confidence. Not only is this bad for their mental and emotional well-being, it also leads to the development of potentially dangerous relationships, self-harming tendencies and poor self-image and self-esteem that lasts well into their adulthood. These factors severely decrease their focus, efficiency and productivity for studies, sports and healthy hobbies. Fortunately, this can be prevented by equipping young girls with psychological tools which help in developing a healthy sense of self identity and esteem. With our latest offering ‘Swayam’ we provide training modules for girls in the age group of 11 to 19 to equip them with skills needed to develop a healthy self concept. This psychological tool kit is developed on the works of humanistic psychologist Carl Rogers and is based on the principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Along with love, care, acceptance, understanding and nurturing from their parents and teachers, ‘Swayam’ workshop and training program would ensure that girls grow up to be strong and resilient citizens of the future.
